Έχει υποστηριχθεί, εντύπως και τηλεοπτικώς σε πρωινές εκπομπές, από έγκριτο και σεβαστό συνάδελφο, τον κ. Κασιμάτη -συνεπικουρούμενο από τον κ. Κατρούγκαλο- ότι η Σύμβαση Δανειακής Διευκόλυνσης των ογδόντα εκατομμυρίων ευρώ, που συνοδεύεται από το Μνημόνιο, και συνήψε η Ελλάδα με τα άλλα κράτη-μέλη της Ευρωζώνης, τον Μάιο του 2010, περιέχει όρο (άρθρο 14 παρ. 5) «παραίτησης της Ελλάδος από τις ασυλίες της εθνικής κυριαρχίας» και ότι «πρόκειται για όρο που παραβιάζει θεμελιώδεις αρχές του δικαίου σε όλα τα επίπεδα: του διεθνούς, του ευρωπαϊκού και του εθνικού δικαίου». Επιπλέον, ότι ο όρος αυτός είναι «πρωτοφανής στις διεθνείς οικονομικές συνθήκες των σύγχρονων δημοκρατιών, παραβιάζει τη θεμελιώδη αρχή σεβασμού της κυριαρχίας του κράτους, απειλεί, θέτει σε κίνδυνο και προσβάλλει στον πυρήνα τους τα κυριαρχικά δικαιώματα, την ίδια την κυριαρχία και την υπόσταση της χώρας» (βλ. το πλήρες κείμενο στον δικτυακό τόπο του Ομίλου «Αριστόβουλος Μάνεσης», www. constitutionalism. gr).

ONE can almost hear the gates clanging: one after the other the sources of funding for Europe’s banks are being shut. It is a result of the highly visible run on Europe’s government bond markets, which today reached the heart of the euro zone: an auction of new German bonds failed to generate enough demand for the full amount, causing a drop in bond prices (and prompting the Bundesbank to buy 39% of the bonds offered, according to Reuters).

Ο βρόχος των χρεολυσίωνΕκρηκτική αύξηση παρουσίασε το δημόσιο χρέος της χώρας στο τρίτο τρίμηνο του 2011, ενώ ταυτόχρονα ενισχύθηκε και ο βραχυπρόθεσμος χαρακτήρας του χρέους, αφού στην προσεχή εξαετία, οι λήξεις των ομολόγων αγγίζουν τα 220 δισ. ευρώ, ή το 60% του συνολικού χρέους.

As the euro area walks step by sickening step toward an avoidable economic catastrophe, German Chancellor Angela Merkel continues to oppose forthright action by the European Central Bank.

She argues that it would be wrong to guarantee sovereign debt -- with printed money, no less -- and would wreck the bank’s credibility. It would also be illegal, she insists: The relevant EU treaty forbids it.

Ήταν δέκα μέρες σαν σκωτσέζικο ντουζ. Ο πολιτικός χρόνος συμπυκνώθηκε δραματικά και οι διαθέσεις της κοινής γνώμης κυμαινόταν μεταξύ απελπισίας και ανάτασης, μεταξύ ελπίδας και απογοήτευσης. Είχαμε τα θλιβερά επεισόδια στη διάρκεια των παρελάσεων της 28ης Οκτωβρίου, όπου έμπρακτα πια και οχλοκρατικά αμφισβητήθηκε και σε συμβολικό επίπεδο η Δημοκρατία. Ακολούθησε η αναγγελία ενός δημοψηφίσματος που σόκαρε εντός κι εκτός Ελλάδος και η άμεση απόσυρσή του. Η παραίτηση ενός πρωθυπουργού, η πρώτη άτεχνη συνεργασία των δύο μεγαλύτερων κομμάτων.

ATHENS—A few years ago, George Gianakouras, a retired salesman of hotel supplies from the Greek port town of Volos, was feeling sluggish. His doctors diagnosed heart disease. He was given cardiac drugs and scheduled for angioplasty and stenting at a hospital in Thessaloniki, Greece's second city.

Like nearly all Greeks, Mr. Gianakouras was covered by a state social-security fund, which paid €10,000 ($13,600) for the hospital bill. There was one more thing: Mr. Gianakouras said he gave his surgeon "black money"—€5,000 in cash—to perform the operation.

LAST week, Steve Kornacki of Salon tried to reconcile two seemingly contradictory polls tracking public support of the Occupy Wall Street movement. A Quinnipiac University poll shows a public swiftly souring on OWS: "By a 39 - 30 percent margin, American voters have an unfavorable opinion of the Occupy Wall Street movement, with 30 percent who don't know enough about it for an opinion." OWS remains for now less unliked than the tea-party movement, though one should keep in mind that it took the tea partiers a good while to achieve this sort of unpopularity.

Μια μικρή επανάσταση και μια μεγάλη επένδυση έγινε το 2011 στην Ελλάδα. Σύμφωνα με την Καθημερινή (29/9/2011),

«εγκαινιάστηκε στο αεροδρόμιο της Αθήνας Ελευθέριος Βενιζέλος το μεγαλύτερο ενιαίο φωτοβολταϊκό πάρκο σε αερολιμένα παγκοσμίως. Οι φωτοβολταϊκές γεννήτριες του αεροδρομίου θα παράγουν ετησίως ηλεκτρική ενέργεια 11 εκατ. κιλοβατώρες, που αντιστοιχεί στο 9% της συνολικής κατανάλωσης ενέργειας στο Ελ. Βενιζέλος. Το νέο φωτοβολταϊκό πάρκο έχει ισχύ 8 MWp, αναπτύχθηκε σε έκταση 160 στρεμμάτων, στοίχισε 20 εκατ. ευρώ και ολοκληρώθηκε μέσα σε έξι μήνες. Εκτιμάται ότι θα μειώσει τις εκπομπές διοξειδίου του άνθρακα τουλάχιστον κατά 10.000 τόνους ανά έτος, με ορίζοντα 25 ετών και άνω. Σύμφωνα με το Ελ. Βενιζέλος, για να επιτευχθεί η συγκεκριμένη ετήσια απορρόφηση των εκπομπών CO2, θα χρειαζόταν 1, 5 εκατ. δέντρα.»

Δεν ξέρουμε αν είναι τραγωδία ή κωμωδία αυτό που διαδραματίζεται μπροστά στα μάτια μας αυτές τις μέρες, κατά πως γράφει το γερμανικό περιοδικό Spiegel, αλλά σίγουρα είναι ένα κλασικό ελληνικό έργο στο οποίο όλοι προσέχουν τι κάνουν οι πρωταγωνιστές σε ένα θέατρο που φλέγεται. Aπαντες ασχολούμαστε με τις «ντρίμπλες» και τις «κωλοτούμπες», όπως είναι οι αγαπημένες εκφράσεις στα τηλεοπτικά παράθυρα, και κανείς με τη φωτιά.

Ανθ' ημών Καϊλή. Τελικώς, αντί να αποφανθεί ο λαός μίλησαν οι κυρίες της Βουλής, Μιλένα Αποστολάκη, Εύα Καϊλή, Βάσω Παπανδρέου και δεν ξέρουμε ποιος άλλος μέχρι να γραφτούν αυτές οι γραμμές. Ολα δείχνουν ότι η αναγγελία του δημοψηφίσματος ήταν μια απεγνωσμένη κίνηση του κ. Παπανδρέου να προλάβει τις πολιτικές εξελίξεις. Μάλλον τις επιτάχυνε.

Να συμφωνήσουμε ότι το ιδανικό θα ήταν να διαγράψουν όλο το χρέος, να μάς έδιναν περί τα διακόσια δισ. για τα έξοδά μας μέχρι το 2020 και χωρίς να ρωτάνε πολλά, πολλά. Το τελευταίο είναι πολύ σημαντικό για την εθνική μας κυριαρχία, η οποία πλήττεται αφάνταστα κάθε φορά που η τρόικα ρωτάει τι κάναμε την προηγούμενη δόση και ζητάει συγκεκριμένες ενέργειες για τα λεφτά της επόμενης. Για πολλούς -πολύ αριστερούς, ή πολύ δεξιούς- η εθνική κυριαρχία δεν πλήττεται όταν έχεις απλωμένο το δεξί χέρι στη ζητιανιά· ενισχύεται με το αριστερό υψωμένο σε γροθιά.
